Commemorating Darcelle XV, a legendary performer and tireless advocate for AIDS awareness and support in Oregon, the granite monument will serve as way to honor all Oregonians who have lost their life to HIV/AIDS and also to appreciate those who have cared for impacted individuals and their loved ones. The memorial features two large gray granite spires encasing a red granite ribbon. The red ribbon is symbolic of people living with HIV/Aids. The base the memorial sets on is shaped like the outline of the state of Oregon.
