Civic & Military - WC&M 008
0.00ITEM #: WC&M 008This large garden memorial complex was built on a 1/2 acre adjacent to the largest WSP detachment in the state. The memorial honors those Troopers "who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty". The Blue Pearl pedestal and badge-shaped base are in the center surrounded by three benches (not shown). The pedestal features a quote by their Chief as well as actual silver memorial coins recessed into the top. Nine Troopers who have previously lost their lives in the county are all individually memorialized with plaques placed around the large lush garden. These plaques are in the shape of a police badge, attached to 36" SS poles. Each plaque features the Trooper's name, photo, E.O.W dates, and the appropriate coins based on the type of service. The large garden area with walkways and exhibits draws visitors in with a large mural painted on a large window. The private dedication ceremony was attended by over 300 Troopers and their families.
